Our daily curriculum focuses on practical competencies not always covered in standard school classes. We ensure every student walks away with three primary core gains:
Independence and Self-Sufficiency: Daily living skills are the foundation for independent living. They enable individuals to manage their personal care and household tasks, reducing reliance on others.
Improved Self-Esteem and Confidence: Successfully performing daily tasks contributes to a sense of accomplishment and boosts self-esteem. This positive perception extends to other areas of life, encouraging participation in social activities and academic pursuits.
Essential Life Skills Growth: We intentionally boost day-to-day confidence, real-world communication skills, and long-term personal growth.
-
Every piece of our curriculum is engineered to align with youth.young adults and adult brain development and age-appropriate milestones. We separate students into distinct Grades,Cohorts.
-
In Minnesota, a high-quality afterschool program acts as a bridging environment between the school day and home. It blends academic support with developmental growth. A typical day combines a healthy snack, a transitional mindfulness period, active experiential learning workshops, and dedicated study time where students build independent routines in a safe, structured setting.
-
At Prestigious Scholars LLC, we believe that hands-on life skills (like cooking or using tools) require close supervision. We strictly maintain an elite 12:1 student-to-staff ratio across all of our classes.
-
Our ratio is significantly safer and tighter than what state licensing requires. Under Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) rule standards, the legal minimum child-to-staff ratios are:
Pre-K / Preschool (Ages 3–5): 10:1 (Maximum group size of 20)
Elementary (School-Age 5+): 15:1 (Maximum group size of 30)
Middle School: 15:1
High School: 15:1
By capping our classrooms at a 12:1 ratio, we provide more individualized guidance and a safer environment than the 15:1 state requirement.
-
Safety is our top priority. Every single staff member of Prestigious Scholars LLC must pass an extensive criminal background check and screening process before approval. Furthermore, our team undergoes continuous professional development, receiving ongoing training in childhood development, child safety policies, emergency protocols, and specific independent life skills topics.
-
We offer extensive flexibility to fit into busy family calendars. Classes can be held Monday through Saturday.
-
Depending on the subject, classes may be held as a single-day class or spread out across multiple days of the week. We offer single classes and series structored classes. We also offer a full slate of specialized summer classes to keep students learning practical, real-world skills all year round.
-
Because our programming ranges from quick single-subject workshops to intensive hands-on culinary or mechanical builds, we do not have a single flat fee. Tuition varies based on five specific factors:
Age of the student: Material complexities and staffing ratios shift between elementary and high school cohorts.
Day of the week the class is being held: Pricing adjusts based on the instructional calendar and session lengths for that specific day.
Type of class being offered: Classes requiring specialized technical tools or expert guest instructors carry different operational costs.
Session format: Costs depend on whether a class is a "one-and-done" single-day session or a multi-week series of classes.
Cost of materials needed to teach the class: Some workshops factor in higher material costs for items the students use or keep (e.g., fresh groceries for culinary classes, sewing supplies, or physical building components).
